Our experience..

We have stayed in B&B's from Maine to Florida to California and abroad. We shop for antiques wherever we go. Our most recent vacation in England yielded some lovely pieces, and most of the antiques in the Inn are for sale.

Inez is the full-time Innkeeper. She spends her time taking reservations, cleaning, cleaning, cleaning, as well as planning and preparing all the wonderful food served at the Inn. Her free moments are filled with fund raisers, friends, antiquing, old movies, and a bit of fishing. Inez has traveled extensively on business and pleasure. Some interesting highlights of her earlier career include a few years with the US Army Military Police Corps, the Washington Metro Transit Police, Director of Security & Safety for General Electric Information Services, Javelin CCTV, and some small growth companies whose products include computer-based security systems. She also helped start washingtonpost.com. She is originally from New Jersey and, as a kid, enjoyed summers at the Jersey shore.

Kathleen still works in Washington D.C. and is the Weekend Deputy Innkeeper. She is responsible for the wonderful gardens on the property and, with Inez, the decorating of the house. During the week she works for the US Environmental Protection Agency, where she is the liaison to the commercial seaports. She stays in B&Bs when she travels on government business. She has a masters degree in business from the Johns Hopkins University, and has worked previously in fortune 500, small business and not-for-profit organizations. Her free time now is filled with long walks on the beach with Rudy & Xena, relaxing with Inez and friends, and antiquing, which in her view is the ultimate recycling. Originally from Maine, she grew up on an island on a lake, where her family still lives.

Xena and Rudy are our non-allergenic kids. They take their jobs as Innkeepers very seriously. They ensure that our guests take a little time to find their inner child. Our biggest problem is our guests want to leave with them in their luggage! They’re definitely the most photographed items in the Inn.

On second thought, our biggest problem is that many of our frequent guests like the area so well they are buying homes here! Fortunately, they keep in touch and continue to send their friends to us.
